MY HEART MY BREAST FOUNDATION AT A GLANCE
I founded the My Heart My Breast foundation to bring awareness to the various hardships that can occur while undergoing treatment and let all women know, you don’t have to suffer mentally. As someone who has seen the ups and downs of being diagnosed with cancer and having been declared cancer free - I want to inspire women to keep the faith as they take their journey. Keeping a positive mindset backed by faith and a strong support system , allowed me to change the course of my recovery and surpass my prognosis again and again - leaving doctors in awe.
My Heart My Breast Foundation was launched in October 2019.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the My Heart My Breast foundation is to motivate, inspire, and elevate those recovering from breast cancer, heart disease, and ovarian cancer through philanthropic, educational, and faith based initiatives. While dealing with the intersection of multiple life-threatening ailments can be scary, you are not alone in this fight. Our foundation was created to provide the resources that alleviate stress by supporting those impacted both mentally, physically and spiritually. We welcome all women on your journey to recovery.
EARLY DETECTION
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we not only seek to help those currently dealing with a diagnosis, but proactively engage our community to test for breast cancer early. Women whose breast cancer is detected at an early stage have a 93 percent or higher survival rate in the first five years. It is important to educate on the history of cancer in our families. EDUCATION
With this initiative, our goal is to promote education about how chemotherapy can impact the heart's function during breast cancer treatment. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered to make the decisions that will work best for them and their families throughout their chemotherapy treatment. Using our sisterhood to better understand the risks and benefits of the available treatments, our education is helping women feel confident in their journeys.
GIVING BACK
At My Heart My Breast Foundation, we are founded on faith and the premise that we are our sister's keeper. Our events include several fund raisers that serve our women who have been financailly impacted by their treatment plan. Or goal is to help young, single, mothers by alleviating financial stress and medical hardships thus allowing them to the space to focus on healing. from toy drives to donations, we strive to give back to our local community when they need it most.
